Today, BTS has officially made history in the “Billboard Artist 100” chart, surpassing the previous record of Twenty One Pilots, becoming the group with the longest time in this chart in history.
Specifically, BTS is currently the champion of this 100-week Billboard Artist chart, this is the 5th week (not consecutive) of the group with the highest position, making them become the first group to touch This milestone, surpassed the previous record of Twenty One Pilots. In June 2017, BTS became the first Kpop group to reach the first place on the Billboard Artist 100 chart.

With the top 5 weeks on the list, Big Hit boys are currently standing side by side with Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone. Currently, Taylor Swift is still the record holder with 36 weeks (discontinuous) standing at the top 1.
The Billboard Artist 100 chart is a weekly chart with criteria for synthesizing all achievements of artists and music groups in all fronts: album sales, sales of each song – single, radio plays, streaming , social network interaction, … to rank artists in the most complete and complete manner during that week. BTS – What it stands for and How the Group Started Out

BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan the Korean for Bulletproof Boy Scouts, which translates as Bangtan Boys in English. The group is consist of seven South Korean boy members formed by South Korean entertainment company, Big Hit Entertainment. The group has made their debut on June 12, 2013. Their song ‘No More Dream’ from 2 Cool 4 Skool, their first album became instant hit and the group gained subsequent popularity for their next series of albums. BTS’ third studio album Love Yourself: Tear which was released on May 18, 2018 has debuted as top one on the US Billboard 200 which rapidly catapulted the group to global recognition.

Who are the Members of the Group?

  • Jin or Kim Seok-jin

Jin is the group’s oldest member and one of the band’s vocalists as well. He was born on December 4, 1992 and studied film at Konkuk University.

  • RM or Rap Monster, Kim Nam-joon

The leader of the band and was actually the first member to be chosen for the group. He is known for his rapping abilities and has already worked with a number of hip hop artists.

  • Suga or Min Yoon-gi

Suga was born on March 9, 1993 in Bukgu, Daegu South Korea and is popular for his rapping skills.

  • J-Hope or Jung Ho-seok

Before J-Hope joined BTS he was a former member of Neuron, a street dance team. He was born on February 18, 1994 and fans are rooting for his impressive dance moves and cheery personality.

  • JIMIN or Park Ji-min

Born on October 13, 1995, JIMIN is one of the group’s lead vocalists and main dancer. He used to be enrolled at Busan High School of Arts. He later on moved to Korea Arts High School.

  • V or Kim Tae-hyung

He is the last member of the group to be known to the public. Born on December 30, 1995, V likes photography and art and had a role in Korean drama ‘Hwarang’.

  • Jungkook or Jeon Jeong-guk

Jungkook was born on September 1, 1997. He is the youngest member of the group and is an extremely talented singer and dancer.
